Hey one and All,

Nw-b5 is pleased to officially announce a Gathering (our first since the
JMS/ "Legend of the Rangers" event of 2001). We will be screening a
marathon of "Stargate: Atlantis" featuring the stand-alone episodes
and concluding with the final five episodes of the season.

LOCATION: Lecture theatre C-9001 located in the southwest corner of
the Academic Quadrangle building, Simon Fraser University. The theatre
maximum capacity is 501, so you may bring along as many invited guests
as you wish.

DATE: Saturday, April 9th, 2005

TIME: We will begin to roll film at 10:00 am *precisely* with a 7:00 pm
clean up and wrap time.

PARKING: The adjacent B and C parking lots will be available for our
use. Note: these are pay parking lots, but on weekends the lots are
patrolled less. Unless you are an SFU student and your car is their
system, the chances of being ticketed or towed are far less. We suggest
car pooling or using public transit where possible.

FOOD & OTHER AMENITIES: As has been the tradition in our previous B5
Gatherings, we ask that you bring something (pot luck style) in the way
of food or drink to share. There will be tables set up for this
purpose. For lunch, we will likely will be doing a delivery of pizza or
something similar. Details on that will probably be sorted out at the
event. Also, there is the Student Pub in The Mall for sandwiches and a
beer for those so inclined.

RSVP: To afugelgrup@nw-b5.com

Why, you may ask, are you screening "Stargate: Atlantis" instead of say,
"Battlestar Galactica"? Aside from the obvious fact that Battlestar is
presently, 3 epsiodes deep on Space's airwaves (and if you're
interested, you're already following it there).
"Stargate: Atlantis" however, is a different story in in that pay TV
stations Movie Central, and (back east) The Movie Network have had and
will continue to exercise exclusive rights to the series until January
2006. Space will acquire SGA rights and air the show after the series
second season completes its first run on Movie Central and TMN next
year. Rarely, has a spin-off series had the potential (and it's evident
from the about the 4th episode onwards) to outshine the original from
which it was derived. SGA is one such exception. "Crusade" was
another. So, we're giving our members a leg up and first shot so to
speak, at this outstanding show. Hoping to see as many of you as
possible there...

On behalf of Michael Pede, MJ, John Francis, Travers Naran, John Gee and
myself.

Dennis
